Verizon is able to monitor app usage, browsing activities, geological location, and more. Verizon recently began sharing this information with third-parties. This information also includes basics like; age, gender, and location along with specifics like if a user is a sport enthusiast or pet owner and what Android or iOS apps are being used in what area as well as your social networking accounts.

As one of the most popular third party communication apps on smartphones; available on Android, iPhone, Nokia, Blackberry and Windows Phone devices. You’d think that WhatsApp would take it’s users security fairly seriously. As it turns out that may not be the case. Recently a third party app called Whatsappsniffer entered the Play store. This app allows anyone on the same WIFI network to pull your entire conversations from the network. This includes messages, pics, videos, and coordinates. The app which works on open and secure networks makes exploitng the security flaw so easy that anyone could do so. And apparently WhatsApp has known about this issue for a year!
